Monsters and ghouls can be awfully scary for younger kids. With Halloween right around the corner, sometimes we forget that it’s not all about being scary and frightening others. Instead you can make some fun, not scary monsters for little ones to enjoy. Actually, they’re pretty stinkin’ cute, so they could be used for birthday parties or really any time you need cupcakes!
The monster face pieces are made out of sugar candy – which are fun on their own. Everything is edible when you have your final cupcakes done (except any paper liners you may have used – although some will debate that even!). The instructions are extremely easy to follow and when you’re done you will have twelve adorable monster cupcakes that any kid will love to gobble up! I think these would be great for a monster birthday party, Halloween parties or just a fun baking day.
We used the kit to make our monsters, but we try to limit the food dyes we give Goonie so we made our own frosting to top the cupcakes. The royal icing was put aside to use later on other projects.

Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in your mixing bowl and beat until smooth.
While I usually take care frosting cupcakes and use a certain tip to do it – this time I just used my star tip and bounced up and down. I let the frosting drop over the edge and down the sides and did each one differently. I mean seriously, what fun would be pristine monster cupcakes? The results – 12 monsters with individual faces and appearances, and a lot of fun!
