I'm not sure where I first heard of making your own compound butter, it was probably from Alton Brown - I love watching cooking shows. But it was such a simple process, and can take every day things to the next level. This recipe can be customized using whatever you want, and is great on bread, steak or even potatoes. 
 

Last month I made a small kitchen purchase that has changed a lot around here - I bought anice cream maker. A couple times a week at least I'm making something yummy and trying out something new. One of the first recipes I tried was strawberry lime sorbet - it was sweet, smooth and fresh. I used fresh organic strawberries from the market and even a fresh lime. What a great taste of summer!
