That's right! Today is the official launch of The Oogieloves Big Balloon Adventure! It's the first movie of its kind for kids. Not only is it rated G (and truly rated G) It's also the first interactive movie for kids. Your kids can get up, dance, talk back to the character and just be KIDS.

What do kids think of the movie?

That's right Gracie - "Whoa!"

The Oogieloves was created with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but Grace is only 17 months and loved it. So much so we couldn't even snap her attention away from the screen!

Who are the Oogieloves? It's the first movie made just for kids to be kids, and it was filmed right here in Michigan! You can read about all of that here in my post Introducing the Oogieloves

I took my friend and her daughter Grace to the Detroit Premier of the Oogieloves. Not only was it a huge party for the premier, it was also a fantastic movie going experience! I know the concept of an interactive movie is a different one - how can kids interact with the movie?

As the movie begins it starts the Oogieloves introduce themselves and how the movie works. Butterflies come across the screen to encourage your kids to get up, dance, sing and interact. There are several of these parts of the movie and they are spaced out so your kids can get worked up and then sit back down. When the Oogieloves want your kids to sit and watch again slow moving turtles walk through to slow everyone back down. It was amazing watching the kids, and even adults get up and dance along. They were singing, dancing and enjoying the movie.

The movie is a wonderful story about three friends on their adventure through Lovely Loveville to find the lost balloons they need for a party. They encounter several different characters as they go and experience fun adventures. While the Oogieloves experience conflict, they aren't ever put in a situation that will scare your kids. The movie is safe for young children, and is based around the concept of love.

I was amazed at the major actors in the movie including Jaime Presley, Cloris Leachman and Christopher Lloyd and Toni Braxton! And while the movie is for children, parents will enjoy it too! There are fun jokes and a few tongue and cheek moments that will get you chuckling during the movie.

It's Oogust 29th! Are you going to take your little one to see the Oogieloves? They will be their new best friends! Even little Gracie didn't want to see them go - and got up and danced too!
