Now that I'm back and getting in the swing of things, let's get back to finishing the challenge. We've only got 10 more days after today and we should be able to finish them all!

Day 20 of the Blogger Challenge asks us to "Describe 3 significant memories from your childhood."

Now these could go either way, things from our childhood help shape who we are today. So here we go!
  1. I wouldn't say that this one had a negative impact on my as an adult, but it is one I will never forget. It might be the reason why I still wont eat brussel sprouts though! When I was about seven I remember visiting my grandfather in a nursing home. I remember him trying to convince me to eat the brussel sprouts they were trying to force him to eat. I believe his exact line was "Come on they're from the cabbage patch just like your doll!" No dice! I do remember my grandfather getting sick shortly after that and me being rushed from the room. It was one of the last memories of my grandfather before he died.
  2. We grew up within walking distance from a lake that is off of Lake Michigan. I'm a water baby - I may have mentioned that before. But I grew up in a neighborhood full of kids, around 30 boys and 4 girls - so I grew up a tomboy. We used tools, we fished and played in the woods. One of my favorite places to go as a kid was an old artist shack that was on the harbor. It was abandoned, covered in graffiti and had plants over growing it. I think the last I checked google maps it was torn down - but I loved that place. Now, we do Urban Exploration around the city and it reminds me a lot of that small artist shack.
  3. We always took big family road trips. Notice, I'm still on the road a lot. But as a family I think we covered 30+ states, exploring and discovering our country. One thing I distinctly remember as a kid (and it's often brought up a lot even now) - is making noises out the window. We had a minivan that had the pop-out windows. My sister and I sat in our own seats and smiled at each other - then stuck our faces near the windows. We both mouthed "woo woo". As our dad drove through the mountains he kept looking around trying to see where the cop was, because the wind + the sounds we were making made it sound like the cops were right on his tail! When he finally figured out it was us of course we got yelled at - but we all still laugh about it to this day! And we didn't stop because he yelled at us either ;).
