That's right - I've run off! I'm off to the great North country for a few days. I'll be tweeting different parts of our trip along the way - that is as long as I have service. Did I mention I'm going north... way north?
So what would you make if you were sent a cooler full of delicious salsa? I had one idea, something I'm still going to make later - but my boyfriend had another idea: Southwest Chicken Pasta. A local restaurant stopped making his favorite meal so I set off to recreate it!
As always, my recipes are gluten free, but it can be made with regular products as well.
As you all know, I'm gluten free. So when I get a review that isn't gluten free - I have a helper. My boyfriend jumps in - cape on and says "I'll do it!". Ok, so maybe without a cape, but he's a more than willing participant when it comes to food!
Farm Rich sent me two free product coupons to try their products and review them. Now, I have to say at first I had a problem finding them. I searched all over Meijer and I couldn't find them. I think there was a sale that week - there was nothing left on the shelf. A few days later they were fully stocked!
I consider us very lucky that we can "hop the border" any time we want to go shopping or have dinner. It's nice having the option to just take a short drive and be in another country. Not many places in the United States can say the same thing.
I have noticed a change to some of the coupons coming my way that say "In the U.S. Only", and I will admit that I'm more than a bit intimidated to try couponing on the other side of the river. The prices are different, the stores are different and I wouldn't even know where to start.
Having the right tools in the kitchen always make cooking so much easier! Having good quality pans is a must - especially if you spend a lot of time cooking. Ozeri sent me one of their Green Earth Woks and Green Earth Frying pans to test in the kitchen.
Their Green Earth pans are natural and don't contain toxic chemicals that can leach into your food like other pans. Check out their eco-friendly offerings:
Taking care of your self isn't just working out and eating right. It's in the products you use on your body too. Have you ever looked at the ingredient list on your lotion? It's full of chemicals made and processed, that shouldn't be put on your skin. Really sit down and read it sometime, if you can pronounce half of the ingredient you will be lucky.
If you are like me, you have been looking for a product you can use that isn't full of chemicals, that is good for your skin and your body over all. You wouldn't believe the amount of products full of gluten!
Life is a strange thing - I seem to find it is much more entertaining than strange. But isn't that part of the fun?
Day 9 of the blogger challenge asks "What is the strangest thing you have blogged about"? Now that sure could be a loaded question - but sadly my answer isn't super exciting!
Well folks, it's official - Trivia will be cancelled for the 3rd. It's right before the holiday, and let's face it - you're going to be out enjoying the weather and time with your family! And that's exactly what I'm planning on doing. Check back for updates on trivia for the 10th!
Have a great holiday everyone!
So here it is another 90 degree day and I found myself in the kitchen canning again. I had planned on making more strawberry jam (we're already low!) this time with the addition of some vanilla bean - but those pesky berries were just not cooperating. So what could I do? It was time to make another Adult Jam!
I had the idea to make this a couple weeks ago when I found a recipe for Pina Colada Jelly. I love strawberry coladas, but unless it's natural coconut I'm not big on the flavor. I grabbed my bottle of pineapple rum and got to mixing. This is going to be delicious over vanilla ice cream! Just remember, this has a high alcohol content so I wouldn't suggest giving it to anyone who is underage! YUM!
Passion is something that every life should have - it doesn't matter what it's for, but you should have it. It's sort of like a belly button, everyone has one and they're all a little different.
Day 8's challenge questions is "What are 5 passions you have?" This isn't exactly the easiest to answer - I can think of one or two right away, but the rest...
